MRV4SOC joined high-level discussions at the European Carbon Farming Summit 2025.

The 2nd European Carbon Farming Summit brought together key stakeholders to advance the development of robust carbon farming markets and policies across the European Union. The event served as a platform to share knowledge, scale up solutions, and drive climate action at the EU level.

The summit featured high-level discussions on:

  • Which practices for European soils? – Exploring regional agrosystems, farmer acceptance, co-benefits, trade-offs, and value chains.
  • What standards and certification mechanisms? – Addressing quality criteria, baselining, additionality, and offsetting.
  • How to monitor carbon fluxes? – Focusing on data harmonization, model calibration, emerging technologies, and monitoring initiatives.

On March 6th, from 12:00 PM to 1:30 PM in the Rose Room, the session “Income opportunities from peatland rewetting: Carbon credits, ecosystem service payments and paludiculture value chains” took place.
