MRV4SOC at XVIII EAAE Congress

MRV4SOC is pleased to announce UCLouvain’s participation in the XVIII EAAE Congress, one of Europe’s flagship gatherings for agricultural economics. The 2025 edition (26–29 August, Bonn) convenes researchers, policymakers and market actors to discuss evidence-based solutions for sustainable agrifood systems.

On Thursday 28 August (2:00–3:30 pm), Goedele Van den Broeck and Lisa Vanderheyden (UCLouvain) will speak in the session “CP Environment 15: Carbon Farming, Biochar and Sequestration Incentives.” Their presentation, “From Soils to Markets: Investigating cost-effective Monitoring Systems for Credible Carbon Credits,” explores how robust yet affordable MRV approaches can reduce transaction costs while safeguarding data quality and integrity. The talk will highlight lessons from MRV4SOC’s European demo sites and discuss pathways to align scientific rigor with farmer-friendly implementation and market requirements.
