MRV4SOC at European Carbon Farming Summit 2026

— 17 March 2026

See how MRV4SOC takes part in this year's European Carbon Farming Summit!

This week, MRV4SOC’s partners will take on the European Carbon Farming Summit of 2026!

Taking place in Padua from today until the 19th of March, several panels and conferences will discuss how to best tackle the climate crisis by innovating new methods in carbon farming. The conference aims to be a “safe space for the sector to agree on the best mechanisms to scale robust climate actions.”

Our partner, CREA, has spoken in the first parallel session today on the following topic: Integrating the CRCF into International MRV Systems and the Global Climate Action Agenda. The panelists discussed how the EU Carbon Removal Certification Framework (CRCF) can be aligned with international MRV systems and global climate reporting.

Meanwhile, on Wednesday, the 18th, our colleagues from the University of Greifswald will dive into the topic of how agriculture with high water levels on wetlands and peatlands can become a key pillar of Europe’s climate mitigation strategy. Through a participatory workshop titled “How Smart Carbon Farming Can Build the Path for Agriculture in Wetlands,“ they will work through concepts such as reducing greenhouse gas emissions, enabling additional carbon removals, and how these can be achieved within the EU policy framework, while also questioning their economic viability.

Have a look at the full program here, and if you are in Padua, hop in!
